The Town of Cumberland was established in 1831, just 10 miles east of Indianapolis. Today the town has a population of 5,500. Cumberland has a thriving business community and has retained its small town charm, while providing the conveniences of being located adjacent to Indianapolis. Cumberland's Park System provides amenities for all residents, whether you want to walk on a trail, have a picnic, or just play a game of softball. The system is comprised of three parks: National Road Park, Honors Park, and Lions Park. The town continues to expand its trail system. In conjunction with parks and trails, Cumberland serves to grow a community in a manner that supports business, historic preservation, and recreation.
