August brings some variety to the event space with IndyFringe taking over the city for nearly two weeks from August 15-25—showcasing an array of performances in comedy, drama, dance and more. Meanwhile, food enthusiasts can delight in the city’s acclaimed food scene during Devour Indy—which goes from August 19 until September 1 and offers specially curated discount menu deals that highlight the diversity of Indianapolis cuisine. 

Fort Wayne 

With our new homes in Fort Wayne, our residents are able to easily enjoy all of the summer events throughout the area. The Summer Concert Series at Country Heritage Winery and Vineyard is a free event that happens every Friday and Saturday until the end of September. With a variety of musicians taking the stage each week, lively atmosphere and delicious wines available for purchase, this concert series creates the perfect summer setting. 

Another recurring event you’ll want to make sure you visit is Fort Wayne’s Farmers Market, happening every Saturday from 9am until 1pm and showcasing fresh seasonal produce, flowers, plants, baked goods and other homemade items you’re sure to love. Located in the historic West Central Neighborhood, this market isn’t one you’ll want to miss, and after browsing the stalls, spend the rest of your day exploring downtown Fort Wayne’s charming stores and restaurants for a perfect Saturday outing. 

The Garden’s Night Market is a free event every third Wednesday until September, and each market features an art exhibition opening, live outdoor music, local artisan vendors and food trucks at The Garden Fort Wayne. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, discover unique local creations and savor delicious food as they soak up the setting summer sun. 

Northwest Indiana

Moving on to the Northwest Indiana area, there are a variety of events you won’t want to miss. The Valparaiso Wine Festival takes place on July 20 from 5pm until 8pm at Central Park Plaza. This delightful evening promises a blend of wine tasting and memory making as attendees can enjoy over 100 red, white and sparkling wines from wineries in Northwest Indiana and the broader Midwest region. With live entertainment setting the perfect backdrop, it’s a festive occasion you won’t want to miss. 

Also in Valparaiso, Sidewalk Days is happening August 2-3, and this two-day event is an excellent opportunity to find one-of-a-kind items and take advantage of great sales. Visitors will be able to stroll through the charming streets of Valparaiso and explore a variety of participating retailers offering unique producers and deals. 

On August 17, from 5pm until 9:30pm, Bulldog Park in Crown Point is hosting the 5th annual Beer, Bacon & Bourbon Fest. With 50 vendors showcasing craft beer, bourbon and more, it’s a paradise for food and drink lovers. Enjoy an old-fashioned pig roast and unwind with live music from Dirt Born & Nawty in the amphitheater.
